A Long Overdue Ode to Jose Bautista

Jose Bautista is a beast.  There's no other way around it.  I wish I had been able to see any of his homers this season, in person, but computers and highlight reels will have to suffice.  I wish I had been able to get better photos of him when I went to Rogers Centre to see the Jays play, but alas...  Maybe next year.  I hope that there is another Toronto trip in the works next year, at least... :P

In honor of his 50th home run of the season, a feat which only 26 other hitters have accomplished in a single season, I present to you: lots of pictures that I didn't take but wish I had taken.

Congratulations, Jose Bautista!!  I am so proud to be a Blue Jays fan.  You're a great player and I'll see you in Atlanta in June 2011.  :D

Edit:  In the time that it took me to write this post, JBau hit #51 and #52.  The Blue Jays Twitter and Facebook updates ask fans whether or not they think he can hit 60.  First things first, guys.  Let's have the man hit #53, #54, and #55.  This way he breaks the record set by Alex Rodriguez.  There are very few games left, and the as much as I'd love to see him hit #60, I don't know if there is any time left.  Three more home runs, though?  Certainly achievable.
